Wheeling City Council Votes to Raise Sales Tax to Fund Police and Fire Pensions

Tuesday night Wheeling City Council approved the plan that will raise the sales tax within the city by half a percent in order to fund the Wheeling Police and Fire Departments' pensions.The optional funding method, as the plan is being called, will cover the additional $1.5 million or so a year the city needs to contribute to fund the pensions.The current tax is at half a percent so Tuesday's decision would raise it to one percent."That'll generate about 2.8 million," said Bob Herron, Wheelin...

Tyler's addiction to heroin began when he became addicted to the prescription pills he was taking to cope with football injuries.
