One Transported to Hospital After Police Car, Other Vehicle Collide in Bridgeport

One man was transported to an area hospital on Friday after a crash with a Bridgeport police car.The accident occurred shortly after 11 a.m. at the intersection of Lincoln and U.S. 250 in Bridgeport and the police cruiser received heavy damage. The driver of the other vehicle was attended to by first responders at the scene and taken by ambulance to the hospital.The officer's condition and the driver's condition remained unknown as of noon Friday.

Tyler County Man Pleads Guilty to Sexual Abuse

A Tyler County man has pleaded guilty to sexual abuse.William Neff was indicted on the charges last year, then indicted again in February when new evidence surfaced. Judge Karl sentenced Neff to 20 to 40 years in prison, and he will not be eligible for parole until he has served at least 20 years.According to court documents, his plea involves to two different victims. He will also be required to undergo 50 years of supervised release, and will have to register as a sex offender for life.

(AP) — A Vermont gun importer is blaming the White House for its laying off of 41 workers because the government blocked its plan to  re-import the World War II-era M1 Garand rifles home from South Korea.  U.S. Army infantrymen used these rifles in World War II, as well as the Korean conflict.
