Officials: Ohio Mumps Outbreak at End

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Health officials say the central Ohio mumps outbreak that resulted in nearly 500 cases of the contagious viral illness has ended. Columbus health officials say they've logged 484 mumps cases this year in central Ohio. That's 46 more than the total number of cases reported nationwide in 2013.

East Ohio Regional Hospital has achieved international recognition as a "Baby Friendly Designated" birth facility.It's the first hospital in the Ohio Valley to receive the designation, which comes from "Baby Friendly USA," an arm of the World Health Organization and UNICEF.
