Dallas Pike Road Shut Down After Semi Gets Stuck Under Overpass

Dallas Pike road was shut down for a short time on Tuesday afternoon after a semi became lodged underneath the I-70 overpass.The Ohio County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday and blocked the road while crews attempted to dislodge the truck. Drivers were advised to avoid the scene by using McCutcheon Road or Ft. Henry Road as a detour.The condition of the driver of the truck remains unknown.

Wheeling Man Will Serve Ten Years in Prison for Distribution of Crack Cocaine

A Wheeling man with a lengthy criminal history has been sentenced to serve the next decade in federal prison for selling crack cocaine. On Tuesday, United States Attorney William J. A Steubenville woman has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment after her four-month old was found unresponsive in a bathtub on April 3.

Wheeling Man Pleads Guilty to Escape

WHEELING, W.Va. (AP) - A Wheeling man faces five years in prison after pleading guilty to escaping from the custody of a halfway house. U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld's office said Tuesday that 25-year-old Dallas Acoff left the Bannum Place on Jan. 17. He was serving the remainder of a 41-sentence for crack cocaine distribution at the halfway house at the time. Acoff entered his plea in U.S. District Court in Wheeling. Dump Truck Plows Through Moundsville Garage

A dump truck that apparently lost its brakes plowed into a Moundsville garage on Tuesday afternoon.According to police, the truck was traveling on U.S. 250 in Moundsville when the truck's brakes failed. The truck then rolled through four intersections, crashed through a garage, and finally came to rest in a resident's yard. The driver of the truck was transported to a local hospital where his injuries remain unknown.
